Why bother learning to use chroma key techniques and filming with a green screen when I’ve already started building model furniture and a set, I hear you say?

Choice, flexibility, and fun! Well, it’s been a bit of fun, and a whole lot of frustration, if I’m being honest.

After about a year of deliberating, I started a podcast. Well, I technically started it a few weeks ago with a trailer, but this week I uploaded my first episode.

It’s terrifying.

Making low reliefs from lithophanes isn’t exactly as straightforward as it sounds, as you technically have to combine two lithophanes, one made from a positive image and one made from a negative image.

The coin project has been rumbling on for a year, but this week it turned a corner. I found myself looking at my first real coin-sized prototypes: incredibly detailed and almost identical to a 50p, but entirely designed by me.

Time to do something completely different: screen printing with stencils and an empty screen.
