Subscription to newsletters

Newsletters are delivered by MailChimp.

On the website, you are given the opportunity to subscribe to my email newsletters. The input fields (forms or pop-ups) used for this purpose determines what personal data is transmitted, but I ask only for first name and email address.

I inform readers regularly by means of an email newsletter about new blog posts and offers. When you subscribe, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to your e-mail address for the first time for newsletter delivery, for legal reasons, in the double opt-in procedure. This confirmation e-mail is used to prove that you own the e-mail address and are authorized to receive the newsletter.

During the registration for the newsletter, MailChimp stores the IP address of the computer system that you use at the time of the registration, as well as the date and time of the registration.

I will never sell or transfer your data to a third party, and you are free to unsubscribe at any time through a link in each newsletter. You may also email me to say that you wish to unsubscribe.

Newsletter tracking

Email newsletters contain tracking pixels. A tracking pixel is a miniature graphic embedded in such e-mails, which are sent in HTML format to enable log file recording and analysis. This allows a statistical analysis of the success or failure of online marketing campaigns. This information is held securely by MailChimp.

Contact forms and emails

Leedevonish.com features links to my email address as well as a contact form. If you contact me by e-mail or via the contact form, the personal data that you send is automatically stored and used in order to reply to you.

Blog comments

If you leave a comment on the blog, your comments are also stored and published, as well as the date of the comment and the username you choose, as well as your website, if you enter one. In addition, the IP address assigned by the ISP is also logged.

Cookies

Like most websites, leedevonish.com uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in a computer system via an internet browser, and contain a unique cookie ID, which allows websites and servers to differentiate your browser from other internet browsers.

Cookies thus enable cashback and discount offers, as well as affiliate links, to track.

You may prevent the setting of cookies through my website through your internet browser and also delete any existing cookies.

Transactions

Shop transactions are processed offsite via PayPal. No payment data is collected on this website. You may view PayPal’s privacy policy here.

Collection of general data and information

This website collects a series of general data and information you load it. This general data and information is stored in the server log files.

Period for which the personal data will be stored

Personal data will be kept only for as long as is necessary to communicate with you, but you may revoke consent and ask for your data to be removed at any time.

Legal grounds for processing your data: consent & legitimate interest

Consent

You give your consent to receive email newsletters and offers when you opt in on one of my subscription forms or pop-ups.

Your information is processed by MailChimp in order to send you email newsletters, and a double opt-in system is used for email newsletter signups on forms and pop-ups. You can request to be unsubscribed from newsletters directly through a link at the bottom of each email and your information will be permanently deleted.

Legitimate interest

In instances where I am obliged to obtain your data in order to fulfil a contract – i.e. deliver goods sold online – this data is held under the grounds of legitimate interests. I will ask whether you would like to keep in touch after this. If you give your consent, then your data will be kept for the purpose of communicating further offers.

Security

Data subjects’ personal data is held securely by Mailchimp.

Offline storage

I do not store any hard copies of data subjects’ personal data.

Affiliate Disclosure

I have monetised some aspects of my blog, which means that I have chosen to display ads served by third parties (on one post), and include affiliate links in my posts.

Affiliate links

Affiliate links provide an income for this blog as merchants pay a commission on purchases made via links to their sites.

However, I do not recommend services or products that would be detrimental to my readers or to their finances, and products accessed via links in my posts are never more expensive than they would be were they to be accessed via non-affiliate links.

I am a participant in the Affiliate Window program and am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com.

For simplicity’s sake, assume that all posts contain affiliate links, although many will not. All my views remain impartial.

Ads

I currently display Google Ads on one blog post. You may find Google’s Adsense privacy policy here.
