It’s been a long time coming, but this week I finished the 250 pewter coin, and with it, the first phase of my money artworks.

I’m not a jeweller, but since I started casting pewter I’ve been tempted to try to make some wearable art. This week I spent some time casting pewter paint tube pendants as it was the kind of artist’s gift I’d love to own myself.

Because most of my sculpture is designed in the round, this week it was time to try vacuum forming 2-part moulds with my tiny, ugly vacuum former.

This week I was obsessed with building a tiny vacuum former to recycle milk bottles. Reader, I made it – possibly the world’s ugliest DIY vacuum former.

As the good weather continued, we got the furnace going again and put the small cope and drag to use, this time casting an aluminium coin.
